Strategy with personality

Every star is a decision.
Every rival has a plan.

What starts as a handful of systems grows into an unpredictable struggle for the entire galaxy.

01 / Command the galaxy

From one system to an empire.

Capture StarSystems, build WarShips, ScanShips, Drones and more, and send fleets through nebulae, wormholes and black holes. Zoom out to command the bigger picture, or zoom in when every ship matters.

  • Pause, plan, and play at up to 8× speed
  • Territory, scouting and diplomacy shape every battle
  • Over 30 scenarios and 20+ rule-changing mutators
The Brain Workshop: a Brain's JavaScript and its test results

02 / The Brain Workshop

Not your average strategy game

Build an enemy worth fighting.

Computer opponents are called Brains. Face aggressive conquerors, cautious defenders, economic masterminds and sneaky raiders, or code your own Brain in JavaScript, test it against the others in the arena, and share it in the Community.

03 / The Scenario Editor

Make a galaxy. Break its rules.

Shape battlefields, place StarSystems, script special events, and set custom objectives. Share the result and see if other commanders can survive it.

Questions from the bridge

Everything you need to know.

Is it really free?

Yes. Everything that affects play is free. Supporters can get looks (extra colours, a portrait border, an effects theme), never anything that wins games.

How do I get into the beta?

You need an invite code for now. Use Request an invite (your name, and the email to send the code to), or enter a code a friend or the team gave you. Once the beta is over, anyone can play.

Do I need an account?

No account is needed for solo play or joining a friend's room: play as a guest. A free account keeps your progress on every device and lets you play ranked, go on the Daily Map board and share in the Community.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. It runs in a current web browser on computers, tablets and phones, with touch controls made for small screens. Nothing to download: install it as an app from the browser if you want it on your home screen.

What’s a Brain?

A computer opponent. Play the classic Brains of Solar Vengeance or the modern ones, each with its own style: aggressive, defensive, economic, sneaky. The New Game screen shows each one's strength and how to beat it. You can write your own in JavaScript and test it in the Brain Workshop.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Make a room in Multiplayer and send its code or link. Play everyone against everyone or in teams, with Brains in any empty seats; rooms can be ranked.

Who makes it?

Cosmic Ventures LLC, an independent game studio. Redux is based on Solar Vengeance by Dion Kurczek / Silicon Commander Games, released as open source under the MIT License, and carries over its engine, scenarios and classic Brains.
